Abseil at the Shelter Rock

Why Abseil at The Shelter Rock

You can experience the excitement of abseiling without having to hike all the way to the Magaliesberg cliff face.

During the abseil you will improve your eye, hand and body coordination, listening skills and conquer your fear for the unknown.

This is an excellent team building, school and youth adventure.

What does it entail?
You arrive at Shelter Rock Base Camp where you register. Your instructor will brief you on what to expect as well as safety issues.
Gear is issued before you hike to The Shelter Rock where the adventure begins.

You climb to the top of The Shelter Rock and take in the view of the valley while you await your turn for your abseil.

When your turn comes your instructor will teach you the finer tricks of abseiling while he guides you down the southern side of the rock.

Afterwards, you hike down the Magaliesberg back to Base Camp.
