This is the ideal place to sort out your camping gadgets before venturing into Africa.
You arrive at Shelter Rock Bush Camp where you park your vehicle and set up your camp.
For hot water you make a fire in the "donkey" (boiler) with the wood provided.
You can relax in the quietness of nature, watch the sunset over the Magaliesberg and the sunrise the next morning.
During the night you may hear the sounds of the jackal and various small animals.
There is no electricity in our bush camp. You may recharge cellphones, flashlights etc at Base Camp. Please make arrangements with Corry.
Bring warm clothing for the evening around the camp fire.
Bring wood/charcoal/gas for food and campfire.
Bring everything you need as shops are few and far between.
To ensure the safety of our visitors we do not allow bicycles.
To avoid runaway fires only gas stoves are allowed outside the dam.
To protect our visitors and game we do not allow dogs anywhere on Shelter Rock.
For safety gates close at 16h30 and reopen at 7h00 the next morning.
The campsite and activities must be booked and paid for in advance.

Booking for a specific date is allocated to the first party whose full payment is received.
Our camping rates are:
Adults: R150pp Saturday night plus R50 for Friday arrivals. Children under 12 half price.
Arrival times Friday strictly between 16h00 and 19h00. Thereafter the gate is locked by the security company and you will have to stay outside.
Saturday arrival any time after 7h00
Cancellation fees of 50% of the value of the booking will apply if your reservation is cancelled more than 7 days prior to arrival.
No refund if you cancel your reservation 7 days or less prior to arrival.
Amendment fees (once only) for the change of date of 25% of the value of the booking will apply if you amend your reservation 7 days or more prior to arrival. Subject to future availability.
