Opening hours
Open Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Sep–Apr: 07:00–17:00. May–Aug: 07:30–17:00. Please arrive before 11:00.

Shelter Rock is located in the Magaliesberg near Hartbeespoort, making it an easy day trip or weekend escape from Gauteng.
Before travelling, please read our directions carefully — some navigation apps may direct you onto a much longer dirt-road route.

Do I need to book?
Advance booking is recommended for all visits. Some experiences, including Via Ferrata and group bookings, require advance arrangements.
Can I arrive without booking?
Walk-ins may occasionally be accommodated for hiking or day visits, subject to availability. Booking ahead is always recommended.
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking is available on the property and all visitors should report to reception on arrival.
Can children participate?
Many experiences are family friendly, although some activities have minimum age, height or fitness requirements. Please see the individual activity pages or contact us if you're unsure.
Are dogs allowed?
No. Dogs are not allowed at Shelter Rock.
What happens if the weather changes?
Some outdoor activities may be postponed or adjusted if weather conditions make them unsafe. We'll always prioritise visitor safety and will contact you if your booking is affected.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Yes. Bachelor weekends, corporate retreats, school groups and private events can all be arranged in advance.
